School runs from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Earliest drop-off is 7:15 a.m.

🎒 School supplies for 2026–27
All students at Courtenay, even PreK, need to bring supplies.
🧑🏫 After school
Care is available until 5 p.m. through Metro YMCA for PreK and Right At School for K–8. Tuition support is available. Courtenay also offers free enrichment classes.

🍎 Breakfast, lunch and PreK snack
Breakfast and lunch are free for every student. Meals are pork-free, with vegetarian options available daily.

📱 Absences & grades
Use Aspen to see grades, assignments and attendance or submit an E-Absence. You can also report an absence with a signed note or phone call to the office at (773) 534-5790.
💊 Medicine at school
If your child needs medication during the school day, Chicago Public Schools (CPS) requires the form “Provider’s Request for Administration of Medication to a Student”, filled out by the doctor or another medical provider and signed by a parent. Ask the office for the current form.
🌨️ Closures
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) decides weather closures for the whole district and announces them by email, text and phone call, on cps.edu, and on its social media. Keep your phone number and email current with the office so the alerts reach you. Planned days off are on the school calendar.
