Hours
School runs from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Earliest drop-off is 7:15 a.m.
Teachers and staff
To reach a teacher or anyone else at the school, start with the staff directory. The office phone, email and the principal’s name are on the School overview.
School supplies for 2026–27

Absences & grades
Use Aspen to see grades, assignments and attendance or submit an E-Absence. You can also report an absence with a signed note or phone call to the office.
Medicine at school
Keep a sick child home and report the absence. If your child needs medication during the school day, the school needs a CPS medication form signed by the doctor and by you.
Volunteering
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) asks volunteers to register online before helping at school. Level I clearance (background check, TB test and a short online training) covers everything; Level II is quicker and covers supervised help.
Closures
Chicago Public Schools (CPS) decides weather closures for the whole district and announces them by email, text, phone call and on cps.edu. Keep your contact details current with the office.
PreK families
Courtenay’s Child Parent Center has a parent room and a parent resource teacher who runs daily activities and workshops for PreK families. PreK team: (773) 534-5790 ext. 4-2874.
